Japanese food erasers are tiny, ultra cute erasers. I would not even think of using these to actually erase anything because they look so great. These erasers are usually pretty small–no larger than a marble usually. You can find them in sets most of the time. They are also sold individually if you’re trying to find specific food items to add to your collection.
So instead of buying just a food item, you’ll get a full meal! The color and detail on these erasers are incredible. They are brightly, fully colored and have very good detail. There are styles that are made more cute and cartoony, but some are also pretty realistic. School kids and even older adults love these.
There are many manufacturers of these lovely little food erasers so you have a very large selection to choose from. Some big brand names that make these are Hapa Culture, Iwako, Itasho and more.
So many different styles of erasers are available! You can find many styles such as:
-fast food -sushi -bento boxes -tea -baked goods -dim sum -Mexican food -Italian food
If you’ve eaten it, there’s probably a miniature eraser made for it too. There are so many varieties available it is mind spinning! You could collect these forever.
These erasers make great gifts since they are so cute! They are pretty rare depending on where you are so they are special when the recipient gets them. You will likely be able to find a food eraser for their favorite food too.
The ones I have seen are non-toxic so you can give them to children too given they are not too young to swallow it.
I have not seen any other companies make these food erasers other than Japanese ones. You can be sure there are common Japanese erasers such as sushi, cakes, tea, and noodles. But they know everyone would love these so a ton of other foods are available.
It doesn’t matter what kind of food erasers they are, I would like it for my collection! My favorite erasers come with an assortment of sushi on a wooden block (made from eraser of course). It includes squid, egg omelette, salmon roe, sea urchin, and ebi shrimp. They look so real, and tasty even! Find your favorites and begin your food eraser collection today.

Individuals who suffer from hiatal hernia should consume a diet packed with all the essential nutrients and the right ingredients that do not make the condition worse. This can be quite confusing at first but knowing the right hiatal hernia foods to avoid, the foods to eat, and how to eat them can make a big difference with the way you live with this condition.
What Food to Eat?
A safe diet can be very helpful if you are suffering from hiatal hernia and a safe diet means the one that can help you eliminate or minimize the occurrence of acid reflux and heart burn. So, knowing what food products to include is a must. Here are some of the foods that you must eat if you are suffering from this condition:
Fruits and vegetables like apples, bananas, cabbage, broccoli and potatoes
Dairy and cheese products like skimmed milk, feta cheese, goat cheese and cream cheese
Chicken meat without the skin, fish without added fats and lean cuts of beef
Whole wheat cereals, bread and pretzels
Jelly beans, baked potato chips, fat free cookies
Now that you have a clear idea of the foods that you should eat then you must also have adequate idea of the hiatal hernia foods to avoid.
Foods to Avoid
Essentially, there are several foods that you should avoid when you are suffering from hiatal hernia and these are the following:
Dairy products like cottage cheese, ice cream and sour cream
Acidic fruits like grapefruits, lemons and oranges
Egg yolks, butter as well as greasy foods like burgers and pizza
Basically, these are the hiatal hernia foods to avoid but each person may have a different reaction to food so as much as possible it is recommended to keep a journal of the foods that you eat and take note which of them triggers negative reactions.
How to Eat Right
Learning how to eat properly is important to prevent the severity of the condition. Essentially, it is recommended to eat small, frequent meals instead of having huge heavy meals. Eating five to six times a day is appropriate but it is not recommended to eat a few hours before bedtime.
It is also not recommended to consume hiatal hernia foods to avoid that triggers heart burn. Along with this, bending over or lying down immediately after each meal is forbidden as these can cause reflux, making the condition even worse.

While waiting in line to check out at the grocery store, I usually ignore the outrageous news headlines of all those in Hollywood and beyond. But today, there was a special issue of People magazine, “Cook with the Stars!” Intrigued, I picked up a copy and was pleasantly surprised.
My Favorite Surprise
Eva LongoriaWhat instantly piqued my interest was a fabulous picture of Eva Longoria on the cover-with her holding a mixing bowl! I always pictured her as someone having meals prepared for her around the clock; maybe this came from her persona on the show “Desperate Housewives.” Either way, I was excited to see that she shared a love for cooking as much as I did. After reading the featured article on Eva, I learned that she grew up in a family of cooks, and they cooked with real, natural foods. This definitely can be attributed to her great figure and healthy glow. I think that we often make the assumption that women like Eva Longoria are just “lucky” and are born with great figures. But if you dig a little deeper, you will often find that they are committed to a healthy diet and fitness regimen. Keep an eye out for her first cookbook due in April, “Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family & Friends.” I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!
A Chef in Progress
Another favorite feature in the issue was Grammy-winner Michael Buble’. He didn’t grow up cooking; he decided to learn once he moved out on his own. His father was a commercial fisherman, so he definitely knew how to recognize good, quality food when he tasted it. As he got the hang of cooking, he began falling in love with entertaining his friends-famous for his chicken wings or vegetable risotto. What I loved most about his article is when he said,” You don’t have to be fancy. Just use wonderful ingredients to get the best food.” So true, Michael!
My favorite recipe in this issue was Top Chef Antonia Lofaso’s Stir-fried Noodles. I love that this dish is a healthy meal for four and it’s under $10! Here is her recipe Stir-fried Noodles. Try it out and tell me what you think.
Although it is natural to feel that the stars in Hollywood are super lucky and don’t have to watch what they eat, that is simply not true. They are just like you and I-and the ones that look great are eating right and working out. Besides looking stunning on set, I guess we can all learn how to cook with the stars!

Are you regularly feeling burnout, constantly exhausted, irritable and perhaps lacking in sex drive? This may be because you’re suffering from adrenal fatigue. Often people that suffer from this condition use coffee, sugary soft drinks and other stimulants to pep themselves up during the day.
Adrenal glands are small pyramid shaped organs that sit just above each kidney in the lower back. The adrenals release their own stress hormones in response to certain situations or environmental conditions. They control the release of many important hormones in the body such as DHEA, estrogen and testosterone. The adrenal’s main function is to assist the body to deal with life-threating, or stressful situations. The adrenal responses to such situations by determining the amount of energy level available for the necessary response.
In many western cultures, due to the fast paced lifestyles that many of us live, as many as 75 percent of individuals suffer from adrenal fatigue sometime in their lives. This occurs when the adrenal glands can no longer keep up with the pace of release of stress hormones or no longer respond to repeated demands.
Symptoms may include severe fatigue, light-headedness upon standing, depression, irritability, lack of sex drive, exhaustion and general uneasiness or discomfort. This condition is often associated with intense or prolonged stress, life crisis, trauma, and chronic illness.
When your adrenals responds to stress your metabolism speeds up burning more nutrients than needed. With adrenal fatigue, the cells have used up much of your body’s nutrient stores, creating a nutritional void.
You therefore need to replenish the nutritional stores with high quality food at frequent intervals, thereby avoid low drops in blood sugar, which will make a difference to your adrenal health and energy levels.
Timing of when you eat is important if you’re suffering from adrenal fatigue. Eat before 10.00 am to restore depleted blood sugar levels from the previous night. Then eat an early lunch preferably before noon because your body will have quickly used up the morning’s nourishment. Eat a healthy snack between 2 and 3 pm to sustain yourself before the cortisol dip which typically occurs between 3 and 4 pm. And finally, your evening meal should be eaten around 5 and 6 pm and a small healthy snack before you go to bed can help you get through sleep disturbances.
Stick with low glycemic index foods as these will moderate your blood sugar levels and your insulin response. In addition low GI will also provide your body with a variety of nutrients that it needs on a daily basis. Its best to also avoid sugary products and too much caffeine if at all possible.

Every day, about 2.5 percent of people all over the world are worried about the problem of sweating too much. It’s a condition that is experienced by millions of people of different nationalities, gender, lifestyles and ages. Men and women aged between 13 to 62 are still bothered by excessive sweating. The condition is common in puberty and for athletic individuals yes, but there are plenty of people who still sweat buckets while sitting in an airconditioned room attending a board meeting or class.
This leads us to ask what could be the causes of excessive sweating and what can we do to address the problem?
As the old saying goes “we are what we eat”. This still holds true in the case of excessive sweating since it has been proven that people who are affected by this condition should do something to change their eating habits. Let me explain: sweating is a natural process wherein the human body flushes out harmful substances or chemicals that we may have ingested. It’s something that happens 24 hours a day and it’s what keeps our bodies from getting poisoned by what we eat- fatty foods, foods laden with preservatives, rich in sugars, high in caffeine. All of these do nothing but worsen the condition of excessive sweating.
An improper diet and poor eating habits are in fact one of the top causes of excessive sweating in most people. Many don’t realize this, but the more bad stuff we put in our bodies means that our systems have to work overtime in order to flush them out. It is no cause for wonder why the excretory system is producing buckets and buckets of sweat just to try to rid itself of harmful food substances.
What Foods Should You Avoid?
After coming to your senses that what you are eating is what’s causing you to sweat profusely you must take the next step of correcting your eating habits. Foods rich in spices not only make you smell bad but they also stimulate the production of tons of sweat. Sweating while eating spicy food means that your body is regulating it’s internal temperature. If you want to look nice on that first date, make sure you do not order the chili or anything spicy for that matter.
That being said, it would also be wise to cut down on processed foods or preserved goodies. Salts and chemicals used in the preparation or packaging of these foods are also harmful to your body. You would be sweating a lot just to eliminate this from your system, which would again make your problem of excessive sweating more pronounced. If you want to stop the problem of hyperhidrosis the most important thing that you can do is be conscious of the kinds of food you eat.

There is a big different between a top of the line food processor and one at the bottom. The key characteristic that separates them is that the best ones are able to do many things for you, making it so you have very few (if any at all) repetitive tasks to perform in the kitchen while cooking even the most complicated meals, while a simpler one can only do one or two things, and works more like a small blender.
The main characteristic of a good food processor is that it comes with multiple blades. A lower end one will come with only one, possibly two, blades. This may be good for grinding or making a sauce, and if that’s all you are looking for in a unit, then this will work well for you! They also tend to be much smaller, holding about four cups of food (depending on the product).
A top of the line model will be able to do a lot more than this. They’ll hold seven to twelve cups of food at a time. They will be able to do a long list of repetitive tasks, like, slicing, dicing, mincing, pureeing, grinding, shredding, and even mixing and kneading doughs. This is a lot for one appliance to be able to do.
You might wonder how it can slice things into neat slices when it looks more like a blender. You’ll notice that at the top of the product there is a chute. When you insert something (like a cucumber or carrot) into this chute with the slice blade set up the processor will slice this for you into neat and tidy slices.
Being able to use one device to take care of all these little tasks makes cooking a big meal a much easier task! Instead of spending hours in the kitchen, you should be able to everything done much quicker than that, and be able to spend the rest of your time enjoying your food and doing other things. If you really love to cook, you’ll notice your meals getting prettier and fancier every day.

Burn your recipes!” If youve been following me for any amount of time now, youve heard me utter that statement time and time again. Its not that Im entirely against using recipes for home cooking, its more because I see cooking meals as a personal art form or your kitchen culinary expression.
In fact, home cooking recipes are especially useful if youre looking for new ideas and flavor combinations. Recipes are useful for cooking meals if you want to try to duplicate something exactly.
Here are some of the things that recipes will tell you:
The ingredients to use
The correct weights and measures for the ingredients
The temperatures and degrees to use
How much time you should cook
What steps to take and when
But, you cant expect recipes to tell you everything that you need to know to make the meal come to life. I like to make analogies between cooking and music. Lets take sheet music for example. There are things that sheet music doesnt tell the piano player. There are variations in tone, pace, and interpretation. The musician has to bring the music to life through his or her own interpretation of the music that they are reading.
Here are some of the things that recipes dont tell you:
Variations in ingredients/substitutions
Variations in measurements/ mistakes in measuring
Variations in oven temps/stove temps
Variations in time
Why you are taking the steps you are taking
There are very few celebrity chefs that I enjoy. An exception is Alton Brown. I enjoy Alton Browns show because he also explains why hes taking the steps hes taking as well as how different ingredients, temperatures, etc. affect the food that you cook. One day when I was watching Alton, he was cooking a popover recipe that looked great. As I was watching, I thought that the amount of salt he used would make it too salty for me. But, when I tried to make the recipe, I used his exact measurements because, well, hes Alton Brown. Turns out the popovers were WAY too salty!
Next time, Ill take out some of my own recipe books I use for inspiration and point out some of the ways that I know the recipe book is broken. My goal is to help you to increase your kitchen culinary skills by using your home cooking recipes to cook meals that you can be proud of again and again.

Hand-held vacuum sealers:
Hand-held vacuum sealers are suited for saving ready to eat foods like sandwiches or sealing small deli containers. They suck out the air and seal the food. These may not be suited for storing coffee grounds or strawberries which might get sucked out when using the vacuum sealer and affect the sealing process.
Bags and rolls:
Bags and rolls are ideal for storing small quantities of food. These are like food savers for your left over pizza or leftover cooked foods. Just put it in the zip lock and store in the fridge. These are ideal for foods that will be used in a couple of days or storing overnight in the fridge. The zip lock bags and rolls come in a variety of sizes and shapes and are very cost effective.
What Does It Cost?
The vertical vacuum sealers and hand-held ones cost anywhere between $18 dollars to $500 dollars. The more expensive ones are suited for folks or small businesses storing large quantities of fresh foods. For average households choose simpler models. Choose models that are less fussy and come with thicker pouches and whose air tight seals are really good. Something in the range of $150-$200 will be ideal for most homes.
Can Food Savers Save Us Money?
With food savers and food sealers we can store our fresh produce and meats for long and use it when needed. Your garden produce need not go waste. The catch from your fishing expedition can be enjoyed long after the trip. You can avail discounts for purchase of larger quantities of foods sold at your supermarket and use it according to your needs.
You don’t have to throw away good food because you can use your food sealer or food saver to store it. There is no unnecessary wastage of food or money. These are ideal for storing a variety of food products and you won’t ever have to throw away your food. You can also cook large batches of food and store in the freezer to use later on. Great for both the working mom’s or home maker.

The availability of culinary jobs are as plentiful and diverse as the people they seek to fill them. Great news for those looking to land a job based on their individual culinary talents and ambitions.
Short order cooks, link cooks, institutional and cafeteria cooks are just a few entry positions available in the culinary industry. While these beginner posts are repetitive and involve little responsibility, there’s only one way to go from there: UP! Promotions to head cook, shift supervisor, manager, and even higher.
Moving up in this competitive industry is when specializations come into play. Specific training will take chef’s into high end establishments like 5 star hotels and resorts, spas, and boutique restaurants.
For those specialized chefs like pastry chefs, chocolatiers, and grill chefs, self employment could be the next step in what they hope is a lengthy career. Personal chefs, small restaurant owners, and caterers embody managerial responsibility and greater variety and opportunity based on the actual finished product.
Even higher echelons within the culinary industry include executive chefs. They are in charge of developing menus, networking with suppliers, and overseeing, supervising, and training large numbers of staff. Responsibility can be greater depending on the specific establishment where they work.
Is there a “Best” culinary job?
Executive chefs, by far, command the most attention. Recent grads rarely find themselves in this position right away. The position itself is dependent upon education and experience, and many employers look to fill this revered post with a chef who has proven results.
Younger chefs eagerly seek out many other opportunities in the culinary industry. Positions at exotic resorts and aboard cruise liners allow people to experience the world! However, these positions have a high turnover because they don’t allow the chance for chefs to put down roots.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to culinary arts. Your perfect chef position awaits!
